Oh, come on! He's going to walk into a restaurant with a camera crew, and they're going to serve him something less than perfect? It *is* the food network, after all. The idea is to showcase good food, not mediocre food. If you want to see someone eating something nasty, go to the Travel Channel and watch Andrew Zimmern eating raw, unwashed pig intestines.

I have to disagree with about Guy Fieri's show. While he he is fun to watch, his shows have become too repetitious. Every place he goes, its always the same thing. Every thing is so good ad naseum. I would prefer a show that is more critical. Saying some things are good, but not everything is perfect leaves me with a feeling that he is really tasting the food and not making an ad for the restaurant. . .

RE: Your information in the internet.

My general rule is that I don't post *anything* online that I wouldn't want as a headline on the NY Times or the Washington Post. There's plenty of data mining and webpage scraping that goes on - no need to provide any personal information for evil folks to use.

Maybe people are going to Starbucks so they don't buy donuts from Dunkin Donuts. I don't know about you, but Starbucks food looks like plastic fakeness to me and I can't really eat it. Truth be told, I drink a venti Starbucks black coffee every day thanks to my awesome dad. Also, I bring a thermos to work with 2-3 double shots of espresso.

Ok, the bean burritos aren't that great calorie wise. However yummy they might be.

Pasta Carbonara would be the only reason for me to have chickens. I love it! I'm working up a post about serving it to friends last weekend. We made it with 1/2 pancetta and 1/2 bacon.

Hook your computer up to your tv! That's what I've done. A tv is basic monitor anyways. That way I can watch GardenFork and cook at the same time. The No Cable is why we got the Apple Tv. That and we're apple freaks. I have an obsession with the amount of commercials that are on cable tv. Why am I paying $80 some dollars a month to watch Commercials! And not even good ones at that!

Plus with the hd tv signal, there's so many more free tv channels available. Jim and I went about 9 months with out cable and we love tv. Which is why we went back to cable.

Alton Brown would say you can wash mushrooms under running water. He even did a show where he showed the difference in weight of the mushrooms that have been placed under running water and those just wiped off. The difference is so small that it doesn't matter. I think he does say not to soak them. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5Mx7NRjf8k
