Your grass will grow healthier if you sharpen your lawnmower blades on a regular basis. When the blade cuts the grass cleanly, there is less damage to the plant, and the grass is better for it. Check out Eric sharpening his mower blades in this how-to video. There are several ways to do this, this is one. Wear safety goggles and be careful!

This is to say thank you Eric.
I watched the video about sharpening a lawn mower. I then looked at the blade on mine and I found that it was blunt and marked with impact damage. The sharpening tool is available in the uk, from an internet garden site, for five pounds (8 dollers?) so I ordered it. Last night I removed the mower blade, sharpened it and put it back on to the mower. I did this exactly how it is described in the video. Without Erics video I would’nt have known how to do it or even consider it needed doing. So thanks for this. I am looking forward to the first cut of the season. (The tool also sharpens spades and hoes so thats my next use for it.)
Excellent stuff. Thanks.
Bob
P.S. I like the dogs barking on the radio show intro music. But I missed them from the later shows. Have they been evicted

For some reason, the audio works, but the video portion is frozen at the intro.
