i’ve never soaked my corn before! i also prefer it when it gets a little brown.
corn is one of my favorite camping foods! i just stick it on the fire (away from the flames) until the husk blackens, then spread with butter (or olive oil, since it travels better in a backpack) and a bit of sea salt. yum!

I never soak either. The debate has always been about husking or not. Steven Raichlen says you get more of the smokey flavor if you husk it. That is what I do and it turns out great, and seems to cook faster than when you did it. It is also easier to husk cold corn than hot. As for toppings, I always say if it is good corn it doesn’t need it. But butter, or olive oil, or ancho chile, or any combination is good too.

Hey,
Forget the corn…GF played a ‘real’ commercial…can you say, “Cha, Ching!”–Congrat’s–I think. Ooh, ah a commercial on GF our little GF is growing up! Tinker Bell Today…the World Later!!! And thanks for putting the commercial at the end!

Hope to get some corn at the farmer’s market tomorrow. Going to try it on the weber. Wonder if it can be grilled without the husk? I’m a butter and salt guy too.

Grilled corn is a favorite of mine. We just plop the corn on the grill husk and all and rotate until evenly blackened on the outside. Butter, salt, pepper and then you chow down. I recently bought some pimenton because Eric mentions it all the time. I am anxious to see how it works out.
