Hi Eric –
You may be able to use an existing lid from another appliance you own for that yet to be purchased thrift shop slow cooker. Or, get some heavy duty tinfoil and cover the top of the cooker and use a heavy stoneware plate to weight it down. Use some Yankee ingenuity!
