Umami can be duplicated by using MSG, if you are not sensitive to it. It's in lots and lots of bbq products.

We're going to have to "reboot" our whole house humidifier. We get a lot of gunk in the water lines and have added a whole house filter to prevent that. However, the gunk has already gunked up the water line for the humidifier and Jim needs to fix it. In the mean time, we have one humidifier in the bedroom and one in the guitar room. The better one being in the guitar room.

As for the Foraged foods, there's a difference between serving foraged foods to your friends and serving it in a restaurant. I don't necessary know what the regulations are in regards to foraged foods. In Chicago, a communal kitchen had to destroy fresh fruit picked from someones garden because they didn't have the correct receipts for the fruit. It's all to do with accountability. Everything you eat should be able track back to the farm which it was produced.

      Great Show Again!

      Mike,
This is in regard to 12/1 podcast  where you spoke about filling the basin with hot water. Many years ago, in a newsletter called tightwad gazette (before being green was cool- it was just good to be frugal), there was the recommendation to put the plug in the tub while taking a shower. This way the heat radiates from the water into the house plus the humidity too- instead of down the drain.

I do this occasionally. It tends to make the tub need scrubbing more frequently. If I were a less lazy housekeeper, I would do this daily in the winter.

You pronounced my name right guys 🙂 I lived half my life in Japan (Mochi favorite snack food) - and I settled in Texas. I don't really worry too much about the length of your show - I listen to it on 2X speed most of the time (really - try it....it's not like the chipmunks or anything).
