      I'm behind the times and just saw this episode. There is a better way to pull forsythia. My sister and I pulled mine with a Weed Wrench. We also removed a firethorn and a couple of buddleias. I don't quite know how to describe this cool tool, so I'll post a link to the manufacturer. This is a good thing for one family member to own and share, or maybe for the community tool library.
