    Tree felling at the house

by Eric · This post may contain affiliate links, its one way we pay the bills. · 4 Comments

We have 2 large pine trees right next to our house. Last winter, the top 8 feet of one of them missiled into the ground right between the house and the wood shed. So we decided to have Entire Tree Service, who remove trees in Litchfield County, Northwest CT, to come cut down the trees.

    Climbing up the tree

    cutting limbs

These trees were too much for me to take on, so i called the experts

see how close they are to the house?

    cutting the top off

Removing the last limb from the 2nd tree

a lot of gear hanging from their belts

    cutting the wedge

    Dropping the tree

You can see the hinge that guides the tree here

It was my job to haul off the logs with my neighbor's John Deere

I am widowed with 12 acres in Northwest Pa. You are my go to guy for how-tos. Greatly informative, step by step instructions. Thank you.

I would charge 100. 00 to cut that tree down each. no ropes except insurance rope for direction of fall. Free climb leaving 12 to 20 inches of all limbs on the way up so tree looks like spikey thing. Notch and drop the top and all spikey limbs on the way down stopping every few feet to take off another length less than my weight till I reached the ground or the last branch then the rope to direct the rest of the trunk.
