ComicCon is over. Unless you mean the NYCon.

Hi David, the Chicago ComicCon is 8/19-22.

I forgot to mention something very important about a back flow flood or any time your crops are soiled by sewage. Your crops have to be seriously rinsed. I know people in my area who were affected by the flood and their back yard gardens may have been soiled by sewage. After the flood, we received several days of heavy rain fall and they feel that the sewage has been washed off. Of course, before final eating or cooking, the food will be washed.

From what I have read it is recommended that you destroy food contaminated by sewage or possible sewage. Now, my beds are seriously raised because we have two dogs in a rather small area. We do mostly containers and possibly the real reason Jim got me the greenhouse was because he's more concerned about the dogs contaminating the foods. I don't believe that we have contamination by sewage in our basement or our garden. Short of testing, I will not know.

Oh and Mike, that corn, I've paid more than twice that amount at my local farmer's markets.

You mused about whether to talk to a restaurant that was "slipping." Talk to them! If you are truly a regular, they know you value them and will take your concerns seriously. If they don't, take your business elsewhere, since you're headed that way already.

OK Eric - my cell charger is unplugged - I do have to tell you a co worker heard the beginning of your podcast and came over to my office and asked me "who is that guy?" I started to tell him about Gardenfork and the cool videos and podcasts you have - he interrupted me to say he did not like you and asked me if you wanted all the coal mines to go out of business... I was (to put it mildly) stunned .... He doesn't get it .. oh and guess where he hails from? Here's a hint... the state begins with an I. Now this is an 'educated" 40 year old who lately bemoaned the fact his light bill was 200 - 300 a month.... He's married with 2 not quite teen boys and all known electronic 'toys'. If my light bill exceeds 35$ a month I freak.
Keep talking about the planet - you might tick some people off - but you also might just get them to think....

Sleeper-sofas last longer than a regular couch because of the extra framing, we have two in our house ... and no, we don't like overnight guests either.
and the corn -- yeah, we had that happen to us too, but really it doesn't bother us as long as they don't pick us dry ... they don't do any more damage than the racoons & deer do!
We had a husky that would eat only the red tomatoes as well - and she figured out how to get around the garden fencing as well ... LOL
oh and before I forget ... WD40 ... according to wikipedia ... it consists of 50% mineral spirits, 25% liquid petroleum gas, about 15% mineral oil, about 10% inert materials (such as fragrance & non-coagulant) ... there is no fish oil -- being highly allergic to fish, if it were in there I would know - trust me.
